康奈尔大学(英文：Cornell University)是一所位于美国纽约州伊萨卡的私立研究型大学，另有两所分校位于纽约市和卡塔尔教育城，是著名的常春藤盟校成员。康奈尔大学由埃兹 拉·康奈尔和安德鲁·迪克森·怀特于1865年所建立，为八个常春藤盟校中唯一一所在美国独立战争后创办的。康奈尔大学有七个本科生学院和七个研究生学 院。根据《普林斯顿评论》，康奈尔大学与斯坦福大学、麻省理工学院、芝加哥大学、俄勒冈州立大学、加州理工学院、加州大学洛杉矶分校、加州大学伯克利分校 一同被誉为美国工程科技界的学术领袖。

康奈尔大学(Cornell University)是由企业家埃兹拉·康奈尔和学者安德鲁·怀特两人携手合作创办的一所独具特色的大学，它成立于1865年(获得州长签署的特许 状)。其首任校长怀特曾留学法国和德国，后任当时最富改革精神的密歇根大学教授，1864年当选为纽约州参议员并任参议教育委员会主席，恰逢康奈尔在同一 参议院任农业委员会主席。康奈尔是一个依靠自己的勤劳的技术致富的企业家和农场主，西部联合电报公司股票的最大拥有者。当时莫里尔法案已通过，纽约州议会 正在考虑建立一所适当的农工学院。于是怀特说服康奈尔捐资(共50万美元及校园田地)，连政府赠地资金建立了这所新型大学。康奈尔大学从一开始就兼具公立 和私立双重性质，具有“公私合营”的特点，在它的13所学院中，私人捐助建立9所，州政府资助建立4所(农业与生物学院、人类环境学院和工业与劳工关系学 院是公立学院)，这在美国是独一无二的。
