帝国理工学院
帝国理工学院(Imperial College)成立于1907年，曾是联邦大学伦敦大学的一个加盟学院。学院于2007年7月正式脱离伦敦大学成为一所独立的大学，简称帝国理工，也称 伦敦帝国学院(Imperial College London)，罗素大学集团成员之一。帝国理工学院与牛津大学、剑桥大学、伦敦政治经济学院、伦敦大学学院并成为“G5”精英大学。“G5”精英大学， 代表着英国大学的最高学术水平。作为一个专精于科学技术和医学的大学，帝国理工和麻省理工在全世界享有同等的声誉，研究水平被公认为是英国大学的三甲之 列。
帝国理工提供本科和研究生教育，共有五个学院，工程学院，医学院，自然科学院，生命科学院和商学院。除此之外，还有一个人文系，提供选修的政治，经 济，历史，艺术和语言课程。 通常被认为是英国最严格的大学，它授予一等学位的比例和每年的淘汰率都十分引人瞩目，尽管它是英国入学标准最高的大学之一。
帝国理工一贯在英国各种大学排名中名列三甲。综合近来各种大学排名数据，尽管帝国理工是专攻科学的大学，它仍然能够占据综合排名第三的位置，同时排在许多工程和医学院排名的榜首。
从世界上来说，泰晤士报高等教育增刊的2007全球大学排名表显示，帝国理工世界总体排名第五，在工程和信息技术世界排名第六位(欧洲第二)，医学世界排名第七，科学世界排名第十三，金融专业排名世界第十三，商学院排名在欧洲名列前茅。
