学校简介

伦敦政治经济学院(英文名：The London School of Economics and Political Science， 简称：LSE)创立于1895年，为伦敦大学联盟成员。伦敦政经学院与牛津大学、剑桥大学、帝国理工学院、伦敦大学学院并称G5精英大学。它也是英国金三 角名校和罗素大学集团成员。伦敦政治经济学院是一所将教学与科研集中在社会、政治和经济科学领域的顶尖学校，也是法律、经济学、国际关系、政治学、人类 学、社会学、社会政策等方面研究的全球先驱。校友及教员之中包括17名诺贝尔奖得奖者，发展了最权威的经济理论，许多对全球政治、经济、社会发展有影响的 思想、政治体系均源于该校。该校入学竞争极其激烈，常年仅低于牛津与剑桥大学。

学院创立于1895年，由一群推崇费边(Fabian)主义的费边协会会员所倡议。(费边原是古罗马的将军，以使用迂回战术闻名。19世纪80年代 在英国兴起的，以温和改良手段实现社会主义的思潮，就称为费边主义。)1900年伦敦经济学院成为伦敦大学(University of London)的一部分，并成为目前伦敦大学最大的学院之一。伦敦经济学院共有18个系、26个研究中心或研究所，开设有经济、数学与统计、历史、法律、 哲学等多种社会科学专业。同学院拉丁文的校训“以探知并了解事物发生的缘故”(Rerum Cognoscere causas)一致，伦敦经济学院多年来一直依循公正的办学及研究原则，院长及教授皆有各种政治倾向与学派背景，更展示了对多元理念的兼收并蓄。此外，由 于伦敦经济学院的位置靠近英国政治、工商业及媒体的操作中心，例如国会大厦、首相办公室、一些重要的金融机构、高庭法院及英国广播公司都近在咫尺，因此它 不仅和外界有频繁的交流机会，同时也享有紧密的联系。每年更有许多国际的知名领导人和各界优秀的专才到访，他们在伦敦经济学院进行公开讲座、教学及个人研 究等活动，极大地丰富了学院的知识景观，也强化了伦敦经济学院的学术地位。
